Ingredients

  • Basmati Rice - 7 Kg
  • Double Val - 5 Kg
  • Batata - 3 Kg
  • Soya - 0.5 Kg
  • Coconut - 10
  • Onion - 7 Kg
  • Tomato - 5 Kg
  • Jeera - 250 gms
  • Dhaniya dana - 400 gms
  • Rai - 200 gms
  • Ginger - 200 gms
  • Garlic - 250 gms
  • Kaju - 750 gms
  • Khus Khus - 200 gms
  • Saunf - 200 gms
  • Green Chillies - 200 gms
  • Kadipatta 
  • Corriander - 1 Big
  • Garam Masala - 50 gms
  • Aamchur - 100 gms
  • Ajwain - 50 gms

Preparation

  • Soak val in water for 10 hours
  • Cook val + batata + soya
  • Roast dhaniya dana, khus khus, saunf jeera and kadipatta
  • Grind kaju, dhaniya dana, khus khus, saunf, jeera, kadipatta, green chillies, garlic, ginger, coconut along with water into paste
  • In a vessel, heat oil, add rai and wait till it splutters
  • Add Ajwain and saute
  • Add onions and saute
  • Add haldi, chilli powder and saute
  • Add above paste and saute
  • Add tomato puree and mix
  • Add water as needed and mix
  • After the mixture comes to a boil, add val + batata
  • Add garam masala, aamchur powder, salt, little sugar and mix
  • Add corriander and mix
