Ingredients

  • Idli Batter - 16 Kg
  • Onion - 8kg
  • Tomato - 8kg
  • Coconut - 10
  • Rai - 100 gms
  • Jeera - 100 gms
  • Chillies - 100 gms
  • Ginger - 200 gms
  • Garlic - 200 gms
  • Dhaniya powder - 100 gms
  • Chilli powder - 50 gms
  • Kadipatta
  • Kothmbir - 1 big

Preparation

  • Add salt to idli batter and mix
  • Apply oil to idli mould base and add idli batter
  • Steam for around 25 - 30 mins
  • Cool and remove idlis
  • Cut idli into 4 parts
  • Add oil in a pan and saute idli
  • In another vessel, heat oil
  • Add rai and wait till splutter
  • Add jeera, ginger, garlic, kadipatta and saute
  • Add onions and saute
  • Add haldi and saute
  • After onions become translucent, add tomatoes and saute
  • Add dhaniya powder, chilli powder and mix
  • Add salt, little sugar and mix
  • After tomatoes are cooked, add coconut and mix
  • Add little water as needed, gravy should be thick
  • Add idlis and mix
