Ingredients

  • Green Akka Moong - 2 Kg
  • Moong Dal - 2 Kg
  • Jada Daliya - 5 Kg
  • Basmati Rice - 2 Kg
  • Onion - 3 Kg
  • Shepu - 15 Big
  • Methi - 6 Big
  • Tomato - 3 Kg
  • Ginger - 200 gms
  • Garlic - 200 gms
  • Mirchi Powder - 200 gms
  • Haldi - 100 gms
  • Hing - 50 gms
  • Mirchi - 200 gms
  • Ghee - 1 Kg
  • Jeera - 200 gms
  • Rai - 100 gms
  • Dhaniya Powder - 100 gms

Preparation

  • Soak moong dal, akka moong, rice in water for 2 hours
  • Drain water
  • Cook moong dal, akka moong and rice  in a vessel adding 2.5 times water
  • Add salt and mix
  • After dal is 80% cooked, add daliya and cook 
  • In another vessel, heat oil
  • Add rai and wait till splutter
  • Add hing, jeera and saute
  • Add chillies, ginger, garlic and saute
  • Add onions and saute
  • Add tomatoes and saute
  • Add haldi, chilli powder, dhaniya powder and saute
  • Add shepu, methi and saute
  • Add salt and mix
  • Add cooked dal, rice, daliya into this and mix
  • Add water as needed and bring to boil
