Ingredients

  • Ponk - 7 Kg
  • Sev - 3.5 Kg
  • Tomato - 3 Kg
  • Nimbu - 15
  • Kothmbir - 1 Big
  • Dates - 4 Kg
  • Milk - 4.5 Lt
  • Olive Oil - 2 Lt
  • Curd - 750 gms
  • Atta - 3 Kg
  • Baking powder - 12 tsp
  • Baking Soda - 6 tsp
  • Walnuts - 500 gms

Preparation

  • For Ponk bhel, mix ponk, tomatoes, lemon, kothmbir, sev. Thats it :)
  • Soak dates in hot milk 
  • Grind to fine and thick paste
  • Add olive oil and curd to this dates paste and blend with blender
  • Add atta, baking powder and baking soda and blend
  • Add milk as needed and blend
  • Add walnut and date pieces and mix
  • Place butter paper in vessel and pour above mixture into it
  • Smear walnut pieces on top of the above mixture 
  • Heat another vessel with salt and then place the above vessel on top of a ring
  • Cook till cake bakes, check by poking a knife, the knife should not have any batter stuck on it
