Ingredients
- Palappam Mix - 5.5 Kg ( should be 7.5 )
- Black Vatana - 6 Kg
- Onion - 2 Kg
- Ginger - 100 gms
- Garlic - 100 gms
- Coconut -
- Dry Coconut -
- Kadipatta - 3 lots
- Kothmbir - 2 big
- Oil - 1 Lt
- Salt, Sugar, turmeric
Preparation
- Mix 500 gms Palappam in 850 ml lukewarm water, 4tbsp sugar and little salt and grind in mixer for 1 minute. Keep batter aside to ferment for 1 hour
- Soak vatana in water for 12 hours
- In a vessel, add vatana, water, salt and cook
- Take aside around 1 Kg of vatana and grind in mixer into paste
- In another vessel, add 1 lt oil and heat. Add onions and saute
- Add garlic, turmeric and saute
- Add kadipatta and saute
- Add vatana paste and mix
- Add vatana stock water and mix
- Add coconut paste and mix
- Bring the broth to boil
